What is Skirtings?
Skirting is basically a board that runs along the border between the interior wall and the floor. It covers the improper edges, avoids scratches from furniture and gives a room a good finish.
As a result of new modern ideas in the field of interior designing, different types of skirting boards and designs are available.
Why have Skirtings in your Home?
Skirting in some projects is an aspect of beautification but for most home owners, it’s a method to hide the gaps between the wall and the floor.
Skirtings are also used to protect the walls from scratches and scuffs. Baseboards provide a buffer between the furniture and the walls. The boards prevent the furniture from sticking close to the walls, thus ruining the paint job or the plastering, or creating unsightly lines on the wallpaper. The furniture pieces are protected as well from inevitable scratching and scuffing that may result from friction with the wall.
